Philippians 2.4-5
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

How seldom we weigh our neighbor in the same balance with ourselves. – Thomas a Kempis

Take a few moments to take stock of your past few days. How have you been loving others? Treating others? Valuing others? Are you loving your friend, your family, your neighbor and the stranger as you love yourself?

Just as God’s redemption includes a calling to do good works, it also includes how we posture ourselves before others. In Christ’s kingdom the first become last, the proud become humble, and the poor become rich. Why? Because that is what Christ modeled for us with his life, his ministry, his death and his resurrection. He is the King who came to be humbled to the point of death.

Pray that God would teach you to be more humble and to care for the concerns of others today.
