Matthew 6.12
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

“What in retrospect we know about ourselves can always be only that we live by forgiveness.” – Karl Barth

To follow Christ, we are called into a new way of doing life. Forgiveness, in the Christian life, is not a one time transaction. Nor is it one way, from Christ to us. Instead, Christ, in his redemption of the whole world, calls us into a lifestyle of forgiveness. That is why he taught us to pray that God would forgive us and that we would forgive others. In responding daily to Christ, we must learn to live by forgiveness.
