Week 3 : God’s Truth
Saturday
Call to Prayer
God’s desire is for all of humanity to have an intimate relationship with Him. We are able to know God through his Son, Jesus Christ. We engage in a relationship with God through studying the Scriptures and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s love, truth and compassion, which are found in Christ Jesus.
Spend a few moments in prayer and silence preparing your heart to receive from the Holy Spirit.
Psalm & Scripture
Psalm 15 (NLT)
Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD?
Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?
Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right,
speaking the truth from sincere hearts.
Those who refuse to gossip
or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends.
Those who despise flagrant sinners,
and honor the faithful followers of the LORD,
and keep their promises even when it hurts.
Those who lend money without charging interest,
and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent.
Such people will stand firm forever.
James 1:17-18 (NLT)
Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
Time of Reflection
Take some time to read over Psalm 15 again. Have you faltered in any of the areas the psalm addresses?
Confess your sin to God and ask that his truth be placed in your heart.
Praise God that he has chosen us to be his prized possession.
Missional Moment
Have you been unkind to someone this week? Have you been unforgiving towards someone? Go make peace with them and ask for forgiveness and show kindness.
Community Prayer
Pray that Hope Hill would be a community where forgiveness is easily given and received.
