Week 3 : God’s Truth

Monday

Call to Prayer

God’s desire is for all of humanity to have an intimate relationship with Him.  We are able to know God through his Son, Jesus Christ.  We engage in a relationship with God through studying the Scriptures and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s love, truth and compassion, which are found in Christ Jesus.

Spend a few moments in prayer and silence preparing your heart to receive from the Holy Spirit.

Psalm & Scripture

Psalm 85:10-13 (NLT)

Unfailing love and truth have met together.
Righteousness and peace have kissed!
Truth springs up from the earth,
and righteousness smiles down from heaven.
Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings.
Our land will yield its bountiful harvest.
Righteousness goes as a herald before him,
preparing the way for his steps.

Ephesians 1:11-14 (NLT)

Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.

God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

Time of Reflection

Take a few moments to look out the window. How is creation displaying God’s truth to you? Praise God for creation.

Pray that God’s truth would speak to you today, delivering you from adversity and preparing your steps.

Pray that God would be glorified by you today.

Missional Moment

Go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts and offer to pay for the coffee of the person in front of you.

Community Prayer

Pray for the high school seniors in the communities around Hope Hill to have wisdom as they finalize their college and career decisions.  Pray also for the teachers and administrative staff as they give guidance to each of the seniors.
