Week 3 : God’s Truth

Friday

Call to Prayer

God’s desire is for all of humanity to have an intimate relationship with Him.  We are able to know God through his Son, Jesus Christ.  We engage in a relationship with God through studying the Scriptures and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s love, truth and compassion, which are found in Christ Jesus.

Spend a few moments in prayer and silence preparing your heart to receive from the Holy Spirit.

Psalm & Scripture

Psalm 145:14-21 (NLT)

The LORD helps the fallen
and lifts those bent beneath their loads.
The eyes of all look to you in hope;
you give them their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.
The LORD is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness.
The LORD is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him in truth.
He grants the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cries for help and rescues them.
The LORD protects all those who love him,
but he destroys the wicked.
I will praise the LORD,
and may everyone on earth bless his holy name
forever and ever.

John 16:13-15 (NLT)

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

Time of Reflection

Take a moment to look back over the past few days. Ask yourself the question: Have I called out to God recently? Call out to God and ask that the Lord’s truth would speak to you today.

Pray that the Holy Spirit guides you into all truth today.

Missional Moment

Take a walk around your neighborhood and pray that God would be present in your local community.

Community Prayer

Pray for God to be present in our local community, and for everyone at Hope Hill to see our neighbors as God sees them.
