We had such a wonderful evening together with friends and family celebrating with one another the work that God is unfolding in our lives.  On Wednesday, August 25, and September 1, 2010, we had the privilege to see 13 individuals take the steps of Believers Baptism.

Buried with Christ in His death, and raised to walk in a new life!

As recorded in Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells us…” Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

Romans 6:1- 41What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

What is Baptism?
Water baptism is a visual and symbolic demonstration of a person’s belief in and union with Christ.  As the scriptures tell us, baptism is a way we identify with Christ in the likeness of His death and resurrection. It signifies that we have turned from our former way of living life on our own, away from God, and have decided to walk in a new life with Christ as a new creation.

For many, baptism is the first public step of obedience to Christ. Baptism is for the individual who has personally decided to place their faith in Christ and has received the saving benefits of Christ’s atoning work and has become His disciple. Therefore, in obedience to Christ’s command and as a testimony to God, the church, oneself and the world, a believer should be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Hope Hill Church practices and teaches “believer’s baptism.” Before your baptism, we would like to meet with you to answer your questions about this ordinance and discuss the biblical significance of baptism. We will also cover several frequently asked questions, all logistical details of a baptism service and take the opportunity to talk with you about your journey that has brought you to this place in life.
