Read

Galatians 5:19-24

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Respond

How do the fruits of the spirit compare to the fruits of the flesh. Do you see a bit of both in your life? How can the power of Christ’s death and resurrection empower you to grow the fruit of the Spirit in your life?

Pray

Pause for a moment and be still.

What word or phrase about the fruit of the Spirit sticks out to you? Pray this word or phrase back to God, and then let this piece of Scripture guide your prayers.

Takeaway

Pick one idea that became apparent to you during your prayer time and carry this with you throughout the day. Check in on this idea to recall your prayer time, and use this as idea as a way to pray without ceasing.
