Scripture Reading:
This is what God the Lord says—
…I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,
to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
…See, the former things have taken place,
and new things I declare;
before they spring into being
I announce them to you.”
Discussion Questions: Through the prophet Isaiah, God is announcing a new thing to us: that Christ has come into the world to make new things. Those who follow Christ are to be a light to others and help him make things new as well. How have you been a light to someone else recently? How have you seen God heal someone physically or spiritually? Do you expect healing to happen? If not, why not?
Prayer: Almighty God, may I be a light to others as you are a light to me, that in all things I may glorify you and be part of how you heal people and the whole world. And give to me an expectation that you will continue to bring healing in this world. Amen.
